Bringing design in house and cutting outside spend by more than half
Consistency is cheaper than agencies. It just has to be written down.
A 31-year-old school's brand lived across agencies, platforms, and years of decks. Every campaign started from scratch and outside creative spend kept climbing.
We built the internal design function, wrote the 2024 brand book (identity, palette, typography, voice and tone, photography, UI and UX standards, templates), moved twelve-plus campaigns a year onto a shared asset system instead of one-off files, and introduced AI-supported creative writing workflows with human editors kept in charge. During a leadership leave we also ran the web team.
Outside creative spend dropped by more than half, with a smaller, better team carrying a high-volume campaign calendar, and site discoverability improved during the web-team stretch.
